Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray or butter.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and melted butter.
Fold in the chopped pecans right before pouring the batter into the pan.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes.
Poke holes in the cake using the end of a wooden spoon, spacing them about an inch apart.
In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, heavy cream, and butter. Cook over medium heat until the mixture boils and thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Pour the warm praline sauce over the poked cake uniformly.
Allow the cake to cool completely before serving.
