Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup whiskey preferably bourbon
  • 1/4 cup peach preserves
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, whiskey, peach preserves, barbecue sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through.
  • While the meatballs are cooking, heat additional barbecue sauce mixed with a bit of whiskey in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Once cooked, remove the meatballs from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes before tossing them in the warmed sauce.
  • Serve the whiskey peach BBQ meatballs warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
