Perfectly Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Tenders Recipe

Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, these Air Fryer Chicken Tenders are a flavorful choice for game night or a family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breasts cut into strips
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  • Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least 1 hour.
  • Prepare a dredging station with three bowls: flour mixture, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Dredge each chicken strip in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  • Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Arrange the battered chicken tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Spray the tops of the chicken tenders with cooking spray before air frying.
  • Air fry the chicken for 10-12 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown.
  • Check for doneness with a meat thermometer, aiming for 165°F (75°C).
  • Let the tenders rest for a few minutes before serving.
